Beyond the Pad: Building a New Way to Make Menstrual Care Accessible.

“We are not just Pad Her Up. We are building systems that help her stay up.”

What if a girl could get a sanitary pad at school when she needs one, without having to go home, miss a class or feel embarrassed about asking?

At Clare Cares Foundation, we are working towards making that possible.

As part of our commitment to menstrual health and dignity, we are developing an innovative sanitary pad vending machine initiative designed to make menstrual products more accessible to girls in schools.

Our vision is simple:

No girl should have to miss school because she got her period.

We know that distributing sanitary pads during outreach programs can provide immediate support, but we also know that menstrual needs do not happen only on outreach days.

Periods happen every month.

Girls can get their periods unexpectedly while in school.

And when there is no sanitary pad available, a simple biological process can suddenly become a major disruption to a girl’s education, confidence and day.

This is why we are thinking beyond traditional pad distribution.

Our Vision

We are working on sanitary pad vending machines that can be strategically placed in schools and eventually distributed across different states in Nigeria.

The goal is to create a system where girls can have quick, discreet and reliable access to sanitary pads when they need them.

We want to work with schools, organizations, government agencies, corporate partners and menstrual hygiene advocates to make these machines accessible in schools and other appropriate locations.

This initiative is still being developed, and there is a lot of work ahead from refining the machines and testing the model to developing sustainable ways to keep them stocked and ensuring that schools can manage them effectively.

But we are excited about the possibilities.

Because sometimes, creating lasting change means asking:

“How can we solve this problem differently?”

For us, the answer is not only to give a girl a pad today.

It is to help create a future where access to menstrual products is built into the school environment.

Imagine the impact.

A girl gets her period unexpectedly during school.

Instead of panicking…

Instead of leaving school…

Instead of using unsafe materials…

Instead of sitting through the day in discomfort…

She simply walks to the designated machine and gets the sanitary product she needs.

Quietly. Safely. With dignity.

That is the future we are working towards.

This Will Take Partnerships

Turning this vision into a reality will require collaboration.

We are looking for schools, manufacturers, technology partners, menstrual hygiene brands, corporate organizations, donors and development partners who are willing to join us in developing, testing, funding and scaling this initiative.

Our dream is to see these machines eventually serving girls across schools in multiple states in Nigeria.

And we believe that with the right partnerships, innovation and commitment, it is possible.

We are not just Pad Her Up. We are building systems that help her stay up.
