Empowering 300 Girls: A Successful Menstrual Hygiene Day Outreach in Owerri.
Clare Cares Foundation is delighted to reflect on the success of our recently concluded Menstrual Hygiene Day Outreach held at Maryland Secondary School, Owerri, Imo State.
The event was more than just a distribution exercise, it was a day of learning, empowerment, confidence-building, and meaningful conversations with young girls about menstrual health and personal hygiene.
Through this initiative, we successfully distributed 300 sanitary pads to students, ensuring that more girls have access to essential menstrual hygiene products that support their health, dignity, and education.
One of the highlights of the outreach was the warm reception we received from both the school management and the students. Their enthusiasm, participation, and willingness to engage made the event impactful and memorable for everyone involved.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating in discussions and asking thoughtful questions about menstrual hygiene, confidence, and personal wellbeing. To encourage engagement and learning, we organized a Question and Answer session where several students won exciting gifts for their participation and correct responses.
Beyond the distribution of sanitary pads, our goal was to create a safe space where girls could ask questions, gain knowledge, and feel empowered to manage their menstrual health with confidence and dignity.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the management of Maryland Secondary School for welcoming us, our speakers for sharing valuable insights, our volunteers for their dedication, and our donors and supporters whose generosity made this outreach possible.
This project was supported by TCBN and Thrive 360.
At Clare Cares Foundation, we remain committed to breaking stigma, promoting menstrual health education, and ensuring that every girl has access to the resources and information she needs to thrive.
Together, we are raising informed, confident, and empowered girls, one community at a time.
