Every year on May 28th, the world comes together to observe Menstrual Hygiene Day, a day dedicated to breaking the silence, raising awareness, and promoting good menstrual health and hygiene for women and girls everywhere.

This day was initiated to highlight the importance of menstrual hygiene management and to challenge the stigma, myths, and inequalities that many girls face simply because of their period. For countless girls, menstruation is not just a biological process, it can mean missed school days, reduced confidence, and limited opportunities.

At Clare Cares Foundation, this reality is what gave birth to one of our most heartfelt initiatives — Pad Her Up.

What started as a simple outreach has grown into a movement of education, empowerment, and dignity. Over the years, we have visited schools across different states, engaging directly with young girls and creating safe spaces for honest conversations. Through these outreaches, we have:

We have seen shy girls find their voice. We have watched uncertainty turn into confidence. We have met girls who, for the first time, felt seen, heard, and supported.

Our impact goes beyond the distribution of pads, it is about restoring dignity and ensuring that no girl feels held back because of her period.

As we mark this year’s Menstrual Hygiene Day, we are reminded that the work is far from over. There are still many girls to reach, many conversations to have, and many lives to touch.

We remain committed to creating a future where menstruation is no longer a barrier, but a normal and supported part of every girl’s life.

Join us. Support us. Speak up.
Together, we can continue to make a difference: one girl, one school, one community at a time.
